According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, fatal car accidents are on the rise across the country. Within the first half of 2022, fatality numbers were higher than they’ve been since 2006.
Overall, Georgia is ranked 14th when it comes to highest traffic fatality rates in the country, with 1.4 roadway deaths for every 100 million miles traveled. Within the first half of 2022, this rate translated to 901 traffic-related deaths. This rate is an increase of almost one percent over last year.
